SQL Views vs. Information Views
Dear Community Members,
i have two questions concerning the difference between SQL Views and Information Views in SAP HANA.
1) Are SQL Views in HANA stored persistently or created on-the-fly ?
2) What is the difference between SQL Views and Information Views ? What i know is, that Information Views are optimized by other Engines than SQL Views. If there are more differences, it would be great if someone can explain them in a few words.

Mm, I use a 244 GB instance on Amazon AWS for such purpose. It's probably more interesting to look into cloud options for what you are trying to achieve. SAP CAL (Cloud Appliance Library) can deploy an instance into Amazon AWS in around 30 minutes and you're ready to go. Just be mindful that there is a server running cost (you can see the cost per hour in SAP CAL as well) so you should stop / start the instance when you want to check something out or demo something to keep your cost low.
SAP HANA can function on 24GB instance but then it's just running SAP HANA with some XS engine apps if you want and t's not really running ERP. Running ERP means loading ERP tables into the memory basically and then you won't be doing all that much with such a low amount of memory ~ if you can even get it to work which I doubt.

Please suggest recommendations for extracting data from EHS to BO without having performance Issues
Hi All,
Here is the requirement : There are some filters in Report and User can enter one value for filter /If user doesn't enter any value ,BO should fetch all the data from SAP EHS.
Could you please provide suggestions for fetching the data as per above requirement from BO, without any performance Issues?
For example , using ABAP FM- IF Input parameter of FM(of SAP EHS) is made optional and is used in BO Report -If User doesn't enter any value,this might have performance Issue.
Please suggest .

How do your users log in to GRC system. EUL or portal or...? what is your User authentication data source.
Since your users are giving incorrect inf., you can set Editable as 'No', for field User id, through EUP Alternatively, you can set parameter 2051, as YES, so that incorrect id cannot be used for creation.
you can make un-check both the options for 'Create user if not exist' Global setting in SPRO->--> Maintain Provisioning settings.
Also, you can remove Action 'Create Object', for Request type Change

VFX3 (release billing docu to accounting) batch job not posting to COPA value field
Hi,
We use a batch job to post billing docs to accounting (same program as VFX3 t code). Recently we have introduced a new SD discount condition to pricing.
If a billing doc with that condition is posted manually to accounting (VF02) then the condition posts to its respective COPA value field correctly.
However if we post similar billing doc through batch job only this condition is not posted to its value field.
It is really baffling as i cant think of any customization that can affect this.
Am I missing a trick here? Any advise would be appreciated.

Maybe it's possible to use a different transaction pattern like save and continue (gc_tp_save_and_continue).
If this error happens occurs during save you should avoid to call the save method several time. As BOPF is mass data enabled you only need to call save() once at the very end of your transaction.

VA43 and VA42 billing plan values showing different values

Check Event R511. As per standard SAP functionality, you will not be able to create budget billing line items if you the summation amount is negative.
Check the Billing documents to see if there is any data issue related to the same or not.

then click on send message button you should add @ before my name and messages will be sent.. but not its not working..

Hi Kevin,
Have you considered taking a performance trace when the index server is under high load? It could help isolate what is consuming the memory. You can enable the performance trace in trace configuration. You should not run the trace for very long because it has a large footprint. Note 1787489 s# required.

Hi Denis,
1. I would recommend to be always very careful with the latest Java releases. Sometimes you face the issues with Java and find out in SAP Notes that this particular version is just not recommended, and it's OK, uninstall, reboot, install the old again. But when issues happen with the latest version you can be the first one and need to open OSS message. So it's better first to check on the separate machine for testing and only then roll-out to consultants and users.

Try to do RSRV tests on DSO and Cube(F/F) tables and correct if if any errors exist.
Later you can try to load data to target.
Try activate source(DSO) and target(Cube) objects individually by available programs.
