My immediate problem is over. It turns out that the power outage fried the network card on the computer that was in the program at the time, and once they replaced the card she was able to get into our program and that fixed everyone.
Your design is flawed though. What if it had been the motherboard that had failed and it were impossible to open the data files from that computer any more? There has to be a way to fix local server data from the computer that houses the data. Again, will an exclusive open do that?

"Should I use BAPI instead of RFC" : as a rule-of-thumb, consider a BAPI as being built over an RFC function module (although people who develop true BAPIs know that a BAPI is much more than a RFC function module), and I only heard of BAPIs at SAP side, not in non-SAP systems.
I don't really understand your question, what issue do you have, if the requirement is to schedule a job every 10 minutes, and the program calls a remote function (whatever it's SAP or non-SAP doesn't make a difference), then it's okay the way you do it.

What do you mean by printing shipping instructions? Is there any output configured to print those instructions? If yes what is the output type and the program, sapscript or smartform or adobe form associated with it?
It can be a design problem in the form.
All those texts are stored in Standard texts, and it is read using function module "READ_TEXT".
The internal table output from the function module will have the lines of shipping instruction, cross check the internal table and make it as two entries in the internal table so that it will print it as two different paragraphs.

I am stuck with one requirement where I need to convert Smartform into PDF and then add as attachment in User Decision in workflow. I am aware that we have to use Program Exit under User Decision for this but I am not able to find proper way out.
I am calling 'CALL FUNCTION 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME' for Smartform under Class which I have created for Program Exit but not able to proceed. Please do share with Binding Info also.
Please help me out in this.

first you have to create two devices with disk init. One device is for data and the other for the transaction log. If they are in place, you can create a database on them. Here is an example:
disk init name = 'cistest_data2',
physname = '/var/sybase/devices/cistest_data2',
size = '1024M'
go
disk init name = 'cistest_log2',
physname = '/var/sybase/devices/cistest_log2',
size = '512M'
go
create database cistest_1503b on cistest_data2 = 1024 log on cistest_log2 = 512
go
Please note that the size parameter in disk init is in pages, but you can specify others as you can see in my example.
The sizes in create database are MB by default.
If your device is not big enough it can be extended using "disk resize" command. The new / additional space must be added to the database by using the alter database command.
You can use
sp_helpdevice [devicename]
to check the devices and
sp_helpdb [dbname]
to check databases.

I believe some workbooks don't work if PICM component is not activated. Ideally they should work, but I think the PICM and CPD is not separated clearly at a technical level as they should have been.

Many questions here, but could you detail where you have issues. So, your requirements are:
1) Convert smart form into PDF. Is there an issue in that?
2) Add the PDF as attachment. Of what? email? workitem (but why)? Do you have an issue with that?
3) Based on a given user decision in a workflow, trigger 1) then 2) Is it really what you mean?
Last thing, I didn't understand why you need a "program exit" (is that the exit you define in a workflow step? Can you give more info?).

We have a peculiar scenario in our production system. Users run translation and Rest Valuation (FAGL_FC_TRANS) as part of the month end process. As part of their process they perform a Translation run and in case any postings happen thereafter, a Reset Valuation run is carried out followed by a Translation run.
During one of the reset run, system correctly picked up a bunch of 100 documents to reset, however it also picked up another bunch of 100 documents (which were created from a previous reset run) and reversed them. It goes as follows:
Date Transaction #of documents
05/02/2016 Reset Run 100
05/02/2016 Translation 100
05/05/2016 Reset Run 200
Upon investigation we found that the reset run on 05/05 picked up 200 documents was because, both the 100 documents of the Reset and Translation run on 05/02 were assigned the same2 digit Run Id (Document Header Text).
We have checked with SAP and every run of the transaction FAGL_FC_TRANS be it Translation or Reset is assigned a unique Run ID.
The Reset and Translation on 05/02 happened within a gap of 20 minutes, so we are not sure as to why the system would assign the different batches of documents the same Run ID.
Can anyone let us know if they have come across such a scenario where different translation batches have been assigned the same run id?

This is probably because permission is not ready in RBP.
Go to OneAdmin --> manage permission roles --> edit your role --> manage users
Flag the "Configure Charts for Key Figures in Compensation Portlet" option.

I believe that this is a bug in the NumericContent control. The renderer is the sap.m.NumericContentRenderer and IconDescription is not used.
You can create a bug again openui5.
Meanwhile, you can do one of these
JS Bin - Collaborative JavaScript Debugging or
JS Bin - Collaborative JavaScript Debugging (this is better because you can switch back to use the sap.suite.ui.commons.NumericContent later easily)

You can use rank variable in some other conditions or filter out the data.
If you go with Add Rank then it will filter out the data from the block.You can not use this to in some other variables or conditions.
I will go with the utility/helper function like Ankit has suggested
