Hi,

 

you should not try to create one massive role that will be used for every RFC user. You should try to create a tailored role for each user. E.g. if a RFC user is used to create sales orders by some external app then this user should be authorized to create these sales orders only. So in case this external app gets compromised the attacker won't be able to gain access to your ECC system by misusing RFC connection. This obviously requires some effort.

 

For a quick solution that lowers the risk but it's not the best you can try to use SAP role that is delivered for workflow user WF-BATCH. It used to be common to assign SAP_ALL to WF-BATCH user but later SAP provided a role that removes some risky authorizations.

 

BTW unless you just upgraded you don't need to assign SAP_NEW to your users. You should read about meaning of SAP_NEW profile here on SCN.

Customizing FD01 and FB70 using PS Class and Characteristics

Hello SAP Experts

 

I have the following issue:

 

My client has a requirement where we need to customize the Customer Master  (FD01) screen and the Invoice Posting Screen (FB70). A few additional fields have to be added by creating a separate tab. I was intending to take Abaper's help and do this using user exits but I have been suggested by the cleint to use SAP PS Class and Characteristics feature to do this. Can someone please throw some light on this feature and how can i create custom fields on FD01 and FB70 screens. Is there a way we could customize these screens using PS class and characteristics. Your opinions would be much appreciated.

Hi Jannus,

 

I checked the set up. in of the link its mentioned that in RFC destination we need to add the SAP gateway and service details from PI. Currently in ECC side in  RFC destination the sap gateway n service is blank. And in inboundRA properties the localgateway is mentioned as "true'

I tried mentioning the PI gateway and service in RFC destination and triggered IDOC. But it showed error in SM58 as " And IDOC exception has occured"

Winform Crystal Viewer & Crystal Report Server 2013

Hi everyone,

 

I was curious whether it's possible to display a Crystal Report that is located on a Crystal Report Server 2013 via the Winform Crystal viewer (CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer) given everything is set such as single sign on etc.?

 

Can anyone point me to the right members or give an example?

 

I know that we can access the report through the URL, e.g.

 

http://<servername>:<port>/BOE/CrystalReports/viewrpt.cwr?id=1152&apsuser=JLee&apspassword=secret&ap

sauthtype=secEnterprise

 

This will need to be open in a web browser though. We would like to have a UX where user opens up the report in a winform that contains additional features such as actions etc.

Hi Manuel,

 

I believe there is no standar Logic to transfer data from ICMatching Model to Consolidation Model but you can create your own easily using DESTINATIONAPP and adjust it to match client´s specific needs.

Hi Alex,

 

Has the issue been sorted out for you?

 

I am facing the same problem on my local laptop, and I don't have themes or VMs.

The logs consistently show the error below every time I try launching Lumira (Predictive Analysis has the same result).

I have tried installing as administrator, running as administrator, uninstalling, reinstalling, disk cleanup, Note 1963482, and ensured I'm running the latest version (1.18) 64 bits on a 64 bits OS (Windows 7). The application launches, the splash screen shows up, it start loading modules, and when it gets to "loading module 'Publish to SAP HANA'" it hangs and stops.

If anyone has another idea, please share. Thanks.

Hi Augusto and Raviraj,

 

I've already verified in our production database the points you made:

- Is the "Manage Item cost per warehouse" selected in the Basic Initialization Screen?

YES

 

- Is the "Manage Inventory by Warehouse" ticked/checked in the "Inventory Data" tab of the "Item Master Data" screen?

YES

 

* I apologize for not have been able to give this information upfront.

 

Anyway, the database only has one warehouse at the moment.

I've checked the items, like the item in the screen shot above, and it does have an item cost.

Below is the screenshot of the sample item from my original post,

Hi Peggy,

 

The Refernce Number you see is in the subreport.  Can you add another subreport link to match the grouping in the Main Report?  So you should be linking on WorkOrder, Scope and then reference number.

 

This should get your references into the proper group I believe.

I am assuming you are in the United States or Canada. If you are making $135k in salary, you are making well above what the average SAP consultant makes. In order to switch to SAP consulting, you would need to take a pretty big pay cut for several years before you'd get back to where you are now.

 

Also, you may be confusing what the consulting companies are charging with what the consultants are actually making. Consulting Companies often charge $200 to $300/hr or more, but the consultant often sees only about 40% of that. I'm an independent consultant and have a pretty high billing rate (with 16+ years of experience), but I don't make all that much more than you and I have to take the risk of not getting paid if I get sick or when I go on vacation. I also have to pay some pretty high rates for my medical insurance for my family ($1800/mo) and while you probably pay some for your medical, I'm sure your company pays a pretty good portion. You might want to work up a total compensation number rather than just a salary number.

 

The only SAP consultants making close to $200k/year probably have close to 20 years of experience or have some seriously unique/in-demand skillset. (For example, long time BW/analytics experience PLUS current HANA experience. Note: HANA training doesn't get you the big bucks, it's combination of extended analytics WITH recent HANA hands-on experience. Folks with no experience jumping on the HANA training bandwagon are chasing phantoms.)

 

If I were you, I'd concentrate on climbing the ladder at the company I'm already in, because they're clearly paying above average wages for your field.

Hi Akshat,

 

Purchasing in the PO can only be defaulted from Purchase Requisition, RFQ or other Purchase Order and not from PIR or Material Master.

 

Purchasing Group from Material Master only defaults during creation of Purchase Requisition and Purchasing Info Record.

 

RFQs are Maintained for Purchase Org and Purchasing Group Org Levels. If Info Update Indicator is set then Info Records are created with Purchasing Group from  RFQ irrespective of Purchasing Group of material  Master.

 

Purchasing Group in Info record helps in Standard Analyses and reports if Info-records or RFQs are maintained by different departments for the similar material or material groups.

 

Purchasing Group in Info records are more helpful when finding relevant info records for material groups

Enter the Jurisdiction Codes according to the documentSMB41_J_1BTXJURV_B020_NFE.TXT.

I have search the internet for this document and the only hit is the actual Best practice document.

Does anybody knows where to get this document?

Hi

 

First of all, you need to check the hosts file on your client system.

hosts file has to include some information such as "host/ipaddress" and so forth..

 

In my case, I found out that the issue is related to OS System.

If I installed IQ16 SP08 on window 2008 R2 (English version) or added a package of english language.

And then I changed display language from korean to english.

 

I succeeded to log in to cockpit console.


And the cockpit related log files are helpful to investigate the root causes.

Product Replication from CRM OP to C4C

Hello gurus

 

We are in process of enabling integration between C4C and CRM OP for products and per the guides I set up the product categories in C4C and also the Mapping Id related changes. I then ran the report in CRM OP to prepare the IDOCs. These processed through HCI just fine but when it reaches C4C, it errors out with text 'Activation not permitted; cross-process category missing'. I then researched and found out that I need this if CRM OP products have sales area data. Now I tried to delete the C4C product category so I could enable the hierarchy but system wont let me do it even though no product is created in C4C. SAP Support feedback is that product category is consumed by a custom BO so cant be deleted.

Now we are in a limbo, I cant delete a category nor can I create a new node, so how do I get around this so sales area data can come over to C4C.

I wish the documentation was clear in this critical area.

 

To test if I can send CRM OP Product basic data over to C4C, I created a sub category under the main one (that was failing above for products with sales data), then I created a product in CRM with only basic data. That came over to C4C just fine.

 

Thoughts and workarounds appreciated.
